JAEYEON CHOI
Jaeyeon Choi is a painter and an installation artist born in South Korea and lives and works in London. She received her MA Fine Art from Central Saint Martins in 2020 and is currently undertaking a Doctorate in Fine Arts at University of East London. She has participated in collaborations and group exhibitions internationally, including at the Tate Modern, Art international Zurich, Saga Prefectural Art Museum, Espace Sorbonne 4 Galerie, Gallery Osaka, Chosun ilbo Gallery and VON Fraunberg Art Gallery.
Her research and work focuses on exploring the materiality of objects and their relationships to painting, space and place. She is interested in analyzing the essence of things and reconstructing their definition through aesthetic juxtaposition and explores how the inherent potential of materials affect her inner feelings. She is currently focused on the cacophony of things - disorder, framing and symbiosis in expanded painting.
